They left their families, friends and parents behind. You left bratwurst and real mustard and country bread. They have left a past behind and have been living in a city that has never been asleep for several years, or just for a few months: Germans in Istanbul.Hard-hitting group managers, tormented Erasmus students, good-humored orienteering experts, illegals from the deepest German province … Far too many German parallel companies on the Bosporus? Where does integration fade and where does assimilation end in obedience? And what about the reception capacity of Turks?

On the basis of encounters, talks and interviews, author and director Emre Akal is looking for answers and daring to take a deep look at German souls in Istanbul.
